Standing the test of time. On Hancock Street in Bellevue, Nebraska, a log cabin has stood for almost 200 years since it was built by pioneers in 1835. Many pioneers in Nebraska were immigrants from European countries. “Immigration brought lots of diverse traditions, as well as foods and languages, their religions, and that did shape Bellevue’s multicultural foundation,” instructor Stephanie Simon said.

Go green. Walking in the parade with Green Bellevue, sophomore Hannah Kinsey hands out fliers for the club. Green Bellevue, an organization concerned about the environment, advertised volunteer opportunities around the community. “Being a part of the parade was enjoyable as I love to get involved in my community, and this was the perfect way to do so,” Kinsey said.
